Peter van Hees, former head of product (and co-founder) of banking app Cake, joins Tropos AR.

After starring at the world’s global sports innovation start-up accelerator, Tropos AR is reinforcing its team to speed up the development of its product portfolio into business success.

Tuesday 27th April 2021, Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium: Tropos AR, the up-and-coming augmented reality start-up, is proud to announce that Peter van Hees is joining the management team. In his role, Peter will assist the prospering organisation with developing its product portfolio and scaling the product team.

Peter’s experience in leading the product development for successful organisations is a huge asset to Tropos AR,” said Sven Van de Perre, co-founder of Tropos AR. “We have very ambitious plans for the next few years and I’m thrilled to have such a visionary product leader join us in bringing cutting-edge user experiences to our customer base all over the world.

Peter van Hees brings more than 20 years of expertise in managing product strategy and operations in high-profile organisations to his role at Tropos AR. Most recently, Peter van Hees held the role of head of product at Cake, the successful independent banking app. Peter co-founded the company and played a crucial role in developing the product roadmap, designing the product and managing the product development team. Before his role at Cake, Peter spent four years at KBC, as senior product innovation manager, where he managed the product team of the youngster app K'Ching.

Tropos AR, founded in December 2020, has been selected by 12 globally renowned organisations in the world of sports; the list includes international brands such as the Bundesliga, Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, European Broadcasting Union, FIBA, International Cricket Council, Philadelphia Phillies, SnowHow China, Stade Français Paris, Swiss Timing, etc. In the next few years, Tropos AR will support the co-creation of many of their augmented reality experiences.

The start-up is currently securing additional funding to accelerate its growth and speed up the development of its product portfolio.
