Can Augmented Reality reinvent the sports fan experience?

Augmented reality start-up Tropos AR is the only Benelux + UK company to participate in the world’s biggest sports innovation accelerator. But will they be picked?

DILBEEK, Belgium - This Wednesday, March 31st, HYPE SPORTS INNOVATION, the world’s Nr1 innovation ecosystem in the world of sports, will be hosting its Clubs, Federations and Broadcasters SELECTION SHOW. Belgian premier augmented reality venture TROPOS AR will be on the centre stage, as industry leaders like the Bundesliga, French Football Federation, Wolverhampton, Inter Miami FC, Atlanta Hawks, PGA Tour, FIBA, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Bucks, Chivas, Rogers Sports & Media, Deltatre, Sinclair Broadcast Group and many more, pick their winners.

From September 2020 to February 2021, HYPE SPORTS INNOVATION screened almost 1500 media-tech companies, selected the 32 most promising and invited them for a month of comprehensive online meetings with over 30 world leading sports organisations. Start-ups that made the selection were given the opportunity to deep-dive into the sporting world’s biggest challenges, fine-tune their offering and then pitch it. This Wednesday, March 31st, Hype Sports Innovation partners pick their winners.

Tropos AR BV is a Belgian start up founded late 2020 by serial entrepreneur Sven Franken and videogame industry veteran Sven Van de Perre. Tropos AR spent three years on R&D and market analysis and now offers Augmented Reality SDK solutions that revolutionise customer journeys in many out-of-home consumer experiences.

Hype Sports Innovation is the world’s largest global ecosystem in sports innovation. With over 40.000 members including retail brands, athletic clubs, federations and academia. The company’s business model is to leverage this platform to grow from the surging needs of the sports industry to innovate.
